Overview
Leh is in one of the most remote areas of the Indian-administered portion of the the Kashmir region and is one of the highest permanently inhabited towns in the world. It was built as a terminus for caravans from Asia. Today Leh is reached only by one main highway, the Treaty Road, which connects it to Srinagar to the west and to Dêmqog, Tibet (in a Chinese-administered part of Kashmir), to the southeast. The economy relies mainly on trade, but fruit growing and other agriculture are also important. An old palace of the kings of Ladakh and the Sankar monastery overlook the town. Pop. Day 1 :
Srinagar Arrival – Local Sightseeing
Our services will start with your arrival at Srinagar airport. Meet & greet and transfer to the scheduled hotel. Welcome drink on arrival. Check-in to scheduled hotel and rooms will be allotted. Relax and refresh yourself and . Visit the famous places Chashmi -e Shahi (The Royal Spring), pari mahal , Shankaracharya temple ,Dargha sheeraf. evening enjoy the shikara ride in dal lake. Evening leisure.
Day 2 :
Srinagar – Gulmarg- Srinagar
After breakfast will proceed to Gulmarg by 09am. Gulmarg is one of the most beautiful resorts in the valleyGulmarg boasts Asia's highest and longest cable car project, the Gulmarg Gondola. The two-stage ropeway ferries about 600 people per hour to a from Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of nearby Afarwat Peak (4,200 m (13,780 ft). You can also try skiing on your own & many more activities. Gulmarg has one of the best ski slopes in the world and also has highest golf course in the world with 18 holes Evening return to Srinagar. Day 3 :
Srinagar- Sonmarg- Kargil
This morning, start for Kargil which is about 205 kilometers from Srinagar. En-route, stop at the 'valley of meadows' Sonamarg for lunch and then crossover the Zojila pass which is located 3900 meters above the sea level. After driving for some time, reach the Drass Village which is the second coldest inhabited place in the world. By the evening, you will reach Kargil town; upon reaching there, check-in at hotel/deluxe camp. The rest of the time is at your leisure. You can enjoy your evening at the bank of the Suru River or by taking a stroll in the market. Overnight stay in Kargil
Day 4 :
Kargil-Leh
Post breakfast embarks on a drive to Leh which is 230 kilometers from Kargil town. En-route visit the ancient rock-cut statue of Maitreya Buddha at Mulbekh village. Later stop for a photo at lunar-like landscapes near Lamayuru Monastery. On the way, enjoy a mouth tempting lunch and photo stop at the Sangam of Indus and Zanskar rivers. By the evening, arrive Leh and check-in at the hotel in Leh. Overnight stay at the hotel in Leh.
Day 5 :
Magnetic Hill | Gurudwara Pathar Sahib | Sangam | Hall of fame| Spituk Monastery
Here we proceed towards a full day Tour to Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Sangam, Spituk Monastery. The Sangam is the place called Nimu where the Zanskar River and Indus rivers merge At Sangam you can enjoy the view of confluence of two river (Indus& Zanskar River). Hall of Fame is a must visit for every patriotic Indian. It has been built by Indian army in memory of soldiers who lost their lives in Kargil war. Gurudwara Patthar Sahib located at a distance of 40 kms from Leh, was constructed in 1571, in memory of Guru Nanak to commemorate his visit to this region. Magnetic Hill is the place where you will see your car, with its engine turned off, move upwards on a steep slope. It almost sounds unbelievable. . In the evening come back to Leh. Day 6 :
Nubra valley 135km. Khardong La pass | Hunder Village | Sand Dunes | Camel Ride Point:-
Early morning, leave on road to Nubra Valley via Khardongla Pass which is situated at a height of 18380 ft and considered as the highest motorable pass of the world and it is the perfect spot to capture the Mother Nature. In the afternoon, after having your lunch at some restaurant in Nubra Valley and Check in to your scheduled hotel. Nubra has acquired fame for its sand dunes, the cold desert that surrounds it, Bactrian camels and its breath-taking natural beauty. Bactrian camels are another attraction. Native to the steppes of central Asia, the Bactrian camel has two humps, in contrast to the single-humped camels found in Rajasthan and other parts of India. The Bactrian camels were the main mode of transport when Ladakh was an important stopover on the Ancient trade routes with Central Asia. Evening enjoy the beauty of sand dune and double hump camel.. Day 7 :
Nubra to Turtuk and back to Hunder | Last Village | Zero Point | Royal HeritageMuseum
Today morning after breakfast we drive to turtuk village. Turtuk is a village of in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir It is located in the Nubra valleyl, 80km from the Hunder , on the banks of the Shyok River. Turtuk was under Pakistan's control until 1971, after which India gained control of this strategic area. Geographically, Turtuk lies in the Baltistan Region and is one among four such villages in India, the other three being Tyakshi, Chalunkha and Thang. It is predominantly a Muslim village, and residents speak languages including Balti, Ladakhi and Urdu. Turtuk is the last outpost in India after which the Pakistan- controlled Gilgit-Baltistan begins. Turtuk is one of the gateways to the Siachen Glacier. In the evening after visiting turtuk village we are drive back to Hunder village (Nubra). Stay Overnight stay at Nubra.
Day 8 :
Nubra valley to Pangong Lake Disket Village & Monastery |Maitreya Buddha Statue |: .
Today after your breakfast you will visit the Disket Monastery. After that start your day tour of Pangong Lake via Shayok is scheduled for the itinerary A huge statue of Buddha on top of it, the Diskit monastery is situated in the Nubra valley of Ladakh. Also known as Diskit Gompa, the Buddhist center is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Leh Ladakh. The Diskit monastery was founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo in the 14th century, and at present stands atop a hill above the plains of Shayok river. The prime attraction of the Diskit monastery is 100 foot high Maitreya Buddha statue, which was inaugurated by the holy Dalai Lama. From the top of the Gompa, where the divine statue is settled, one can have a panoramic view of the Nubra valley. The Pangong Lake is around 135 kilometers away from Leh and situated at an elevation of 4,400 meters. En route, cross Chang la pass and drive through Durbuk and Tangtse village situated in the Changthang region of Ladakh.In the afternoon, explore the lake and its surroundings. Day 9 :

Early morning breakfast, you will drive back to leh via changla Pass.On the way we can visit: Thiksey Monastery, Shey Palace & Rancho School. Shey Palace – Shay Palace is situated approx. 15 km south upstream from Leh and was built 1650. It has the largest Changchup Chorten – Victory Stupa in Ladakh. The top of it is made of pure gold. Stupa is a dome shaped building erected as a Buddhist shrine and they are seen all over. Thiksey Monastery - One of the main attractions inside the Thiksey Monastery is the Maitreya Buddha. The statue is almost two stories tall and is a splendid piece of architecture. The Chang La pass is a high mountain pass in Ladakh, India. It is claimed to be the third highest motor-able road in the world. Chang La is approached from Leh via Kharu and Sakti village by an asphalt road. Leh Airport
